Lack of Proper Medication, Pharmacies and Health care unit in underprivileged areas of Pakistan
The first wealth is health.
In countries like Pakistan their are many social issues such as lack of clean water, illiteracy, addiction, education, hunger but beside these issues their is also a major issue which is health. In under privileged areas of Pakistan their is lack of pharmacies , proper medication staff and health care units.
When a poor family is given a choice to spend on either bread or health care, they will always choose bread. Such are the conditions in which the rural slum communities reside with huge economic burden in their lives and lack of access quality primary healthcare, these underprivileged communities mostly ignore their illness until there is a need for hospitalization.
Pakistan has one of he highest infant mortality rates and lowest life expect-ancy when compared to even smaller neighbors like Bangladesh and Nepal. Though financial conditions make it consider hard for people to seek quality medical care for themselves & their loved ones. Hospitals are reducing their services even shutting down completely at as unprecedented rate.
In such type under privileged areas their are mostly medical practitioners , homeopathic or charlatan ( hakeems ). Who provide deleterative medicines to poor people with different side effects and not such beneficial for people health.
In these areas their is usually a one government establish health care unit with lack of medicines and proper medical staff. Most of time health care unit is close due to which resident of those areas face certain issues. They have to wait for too long some times for their turn and their are long lines in the pharmacy of health care units where almost not every type of medicine is available. People have to wait for their turns for too long even sometimes due to miss management and unavailability of medicine contest or fight starts between people and staff.
In health care units their are less beds and para medical staff. In each bed their are 2 or more patients admitted who are facing different health problems.
To overcome this problem i am thinking to start a pharmacy and a clinic in one of the underprivileged. For this survey i visited Shah Pur very underprivileged area and conduct a survey on those people. All those people want to have specialist doctor and good medical staff at their area. The interaction with those people give me a broader concept of my idea that those people are really needy to have a good health care unit at their area.
The main benefit by doing this sort of project on such type of social issue explore my research and concept. Also give me an opportunity to work for poor segment of our society.
